Is Jean-Geoges at Trump International Hotel & Tower the Best Hotel Restaurant in New York City?
It is if you’re going by the latest Zagat Guide. The annual exercise in uber-crowd-sourced reviewing unveiled its best lists for 2015 today, and a handful of hotel restaurants landed at the top of the heap.
Jean-Georges also racked up three stars — the equivalent of an A+ — from the Michelin Guide, the only hotel restaurant so anointed as we reported earlier this month.
It was a good year for hotels with nine restaurants cracking Zagat’s Top 100 list, up from six in 2014. Here they are with their ranking for 2015 (and 2014 if applicable).
Jean-Georges at Trump International Hotel & Tower (3 — up from 6 in 2014)
Benjamin Steakhouse at the Dylan Hotel (15 — not on the list last year)
Nougatine at Jean-Georges at Trump International Hotel & Tower (20 — up from 31)
Cafe Boulud at The Surrey (27 — up from 46)
Au Fiori at the Langham New York (51 — up from 57)
Asiate at the Mandarin Oriental New York (55 — not on the last last year)
NoMad at the NoMad Hotel (58 — down from 26)
Maialino at the Gramercy Park Hotel (65 — up from 83)
Blue Ribbon Sushi & Grill at 6 Columbus (97 — didn’t make the list last year)
Honorable mention by association: Red Farm at NYLO is a branch of Red Farm in the West Village, which came in at 70
Jean-Georges wasn’t the only double winner. The Michelin Guide also tapped Ai Fiori, Cafe Boulud and the NoMad, awarding each one star.
Thanks for tip. I’ll try one or two. All nine would require a second mortgage on the family manse.
