Pass the Popcorn: The Most-Watched Hotel Room Movies in May 2012
Once again we’re back with two of our favorite top-10 lists – the Hollywood movies most watched by guests in hotel rooms in New York City and across the nation.
During May the lists were similar with one big difference: John Carter, the interplanetary sci-fi extravaganza that was more box office bust than blockbuster, scored a spot on the national list but not in New York. And Wanderlust, the Jennifer Anniston/Paul Rudd comedy about a couple trading big city life for a commune, was a hit, of sorts, with hotel guests in this big city but not beyond. Go figure.
Here are the lists culled from 1.6 million hotels served by LodgeNet.
The Nation
1. Safe House
2. American Reunion
3. Act of Valor
4. The Vow
5. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
6. This Means War
7. John Carter
8. The Grey
9. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
10. Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol
New York

10. Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax
John Carter is an ambitious failure, at the least, and has a talented director in Andrew Stanton of Pixar fame. I’d consider watching it sometime.
